Most people in low rank games will split up randomly at the beginning of the game into the 3 lanes. Assassins are usually bad at solo laning because they have low hp, although some like Kael'Thas have such good wave clear that they can clear lanes very effectively. Then again u want ur warrior roaming most of the time if you yourself are looking to gank people. Most warriors and specialists are solid solo laners, which means they can fight over the lane which is furthest away from teamfights/ganks. Supports generally want to stay with one or more ppl usually the tank. If you really wanna ask, just say something like "Where do you guys want me to be?" Everyone loves a helpful teammate!ĭepends on the character ur playing. In general, I try to only say things I think will help the team morale and saying you're new gives the team a chance to be dicks. Maybe roam between lanes (especially on small maps) to try and gank enemies. Maybe help a lane that already has people to go for kills or push hard. Maybe help a hero who will have a hard time being alone in lane. If all the lanes are covered, you can do whatever. If you think you're going to have a problem being alone in lane, ask a teammate to help you or swap lanes (or just wait for an objective- people leave lane and usually swap around where needed afterwards). So, if nobody is going to a certain lane, you probably do the most good by going there and just staying at the back of the wave soaking the XP, even if you lose that lane.Ĭertain characters don't love solo laning, though: it's easy to lose a lane if you're playing heroes that can't knock the opponent around or clear minion waves very well (think, for example, ETC- he doesn't do enough damage to clear waves or force opponents away by himself he much prefers to set up for his team). In general, you want someone soaking each lane or you'll lose XP. People are giving you really complicated answers.
